Many of the people who plan to participate in the “shutdown” in April say they want to block roads and refuse to deliver loads in order to make their point. They’re upset (but other than frothing at the mouth about ELD’s, they don’t really have a coherent message) and they think that they can get the general public’s attention by shutting down. Have y’all had a good look at the attention span of the general public?
The great irony of this story is that the people who are so angry over regulations seem quite happy to have the state force regulations on OTHER people, they just don’t want any on themselves. They want shippers, receivers, carriers, and brokers to be heavily regulated by the state. At the same time, they want no regulations placed on themselves. So which is it? Do you want a totalitarian state to regulate everyone around you? How is it that you expect this same totalitarian regime is going to give you a pass? It’s delusion and cognitive dissonance.

Your answers are not found within the state. It is most likely the cause of some of your problem, of that there’s no doubt. However, it cannot be both the cause and the solution to the problem. Voting will get you nowhere. You have no friends in the government.
